Singers Brina Vogelnik and Metod Banko, with the instrumental accompaniment of an eight-member band, take us on a walk through the outskirts of Slovenia and interweave lyrics with new music that sounds lyrical, ballad and nostalgic. Mala mestna muzika can undoubtedly be considered among the best Slovenian musical creations of recent years, so the tour is full of surprises and rich in good impressions.

Brina Vogelnik, Metod Banko, voice; Jelena Ždrale, violin; Andrej Zupan, clarinet; Tanja Pirc, mandolin; Tina Pančur, harpsichord; Brane Matošec Bizjak, guitar; Tomaž Guček, accordion; Nino de Gleria, double bass; Rudi Pančur, piano

A project by composer and pianist Rudi Pančur, Mala mestna muzika takes us on a trailblazing musical walk to the outer edges of Slovenia with a beautiful repertoire comprising musical settings of Vlado Žabot’s poems, Žalostinke po razkriško (elegies in Razkrižje dialect). Fronted by lead singers Brina Vogelnik and Metod Banko, the small ensemble of well-versed artists dexterously integrates the poems into newly penned music, creating lyrical, balladesque, slightly grotesque and, above all, nostalgic soundscapes. Undoubtedly one of the finest musical projects to have come out of Slovenia in recent years.
